A safer working environment with a Megadoor system

Gladstone Ports Corporation Limited is a government-owned corporation that manages and operates RG Tanna Coal Terminal. The site is located approximately 525 km north of Brisbane and exports approximately 60 Mtpa. RG Tanna is operated 24 hours a day, all year round to provide export bulk handling facilities to many Queensland mines.

Due to the tough workload and the harsh weather conditions with very strong winds, a safe, secure and stable door was needed to be installed. ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems retrofitted the original five year old steel frame with a new Megadoor system. The purpose of the Megadoor installation was to increase the working space with maximum openings, as well to improve worker comfort and safety with a fabric that could withstand at least 4.0 kPa windload.

  • Each door can be used independently
  • Increased worker comfort

  • Safer operation
  • Withstand high windloads: Megadoor is designed to withstand at least 4.0 kPa windload
